The Anthony F. Cordeiro Charitable Foundation has awarded $15,500 in grants to five nonprofits in Fall River and surrounding areas, focusing on enhancing the lives of people and animals in Southeastern Massachusetts. This announcement was made during the AFC 2026 Gala on January 31, 2026. Since its establishment in 2018, the foundation has distributed over $290,000 to various organizations.

The recipients of the latest grants include Angels Anonymous, which received $5,000 for its food pantry; Dignity Matters, awarded $3,500 for menstrual care supplies; Firehouse Dogs, which received $2,500 for training a comfort dog; the Animal Rescue League of Fall River, granted $2,500 for new cat cages; and the Katie Brown Education Program, which received $2,000 for violence prevention programming for LGBTQIA+ youth. The foundation’s mission is to support local communities through vital resources, with funding sourced from donations and events like its annual gala and golf tournament. Applications for the next round of funding are currently being accepted until June 30, 2026.
